PHANTOM'S ROSE: the Fantasy Faery WORLD of Coriander Shea
Coriander Shea was born on June 11, 1986 in Altoona, PA. She was a very creative, forceful, and "free-spirited" child and her parent's book collection bear the ever-lasting crayon-laden results of her initial artistic endeauvors, and as she understands it, her parents have more pictures of her buck nekkid as a child than of her other three brothers clothed!
All throughout her childhood years, Coriander was always artistically inclined and that creativity took its form through visual art as well as singing, acting, and being a general pain in the butt. Coriander became heavily influenced by faery art while she was still in high school with Amy Brown's artwork starting the spark and to this day, she is still incredibly inspired by her. Soon after, Coriander became enamored with the world of Heavy Metal magazine and discovered the amazing and awe-inspiring work of her greatest influence to date, Luis Royo as well as the work of Dorian Cleavenger and gothic artist Joseph Vargo.
In college, Coriander's artistic process was furthered nudged and refined from the incredible Art Dept. staff of Mansfield University. It was during these four years that she believes she really came into her own skin as an artist and spiritualist. She was also introduced to the art of gothic pewter company, Alchemy Gothic that served to be incredibly and deeply inspiring to her.
